re:Yard is a community-oriented program that awards lawns, gardens and yards for being sustainable and reducing many of environmental impacts from standard yard care.
The goal for the re:Yard certification is to encourage, support and celebrate a wide-variety of options to reduce and eliminate these impacts in diverse ways.
Once you have submitted a completed Checklist, you will be given a lawn sign (pictured below) to let the community know that you are participating in the program. As you complete more actions in the program you will move up to the higher levels of certification.
Who we are:
re:Yard is a collection of individuals, homeowners, residents and municipalities striving to make a positive impact on the lives of people through sustainability. The program first began as a initiative by three communities in Northern New Jersey – South Orange, Maplewood and Millburn through a volunteer-based green team. The launch of the effort was made possible through funding by Sustainable Jersey.
